Season of the Malignant
Season 1 of Diablo IV, Season of the Malignant, will start on July 20th!

Seasons will last at least 12 weaks.
Scroll of Amnesia will be a Seasonal reward that allows you to reset all your skills and paragon board for free.
What will carry over from Eternal Realm to Seasonal Realm: Fog of War, Areas Discovered, Altars of Lilith
There will be new Unique and Legendary items coming with Season 1 (these will also be available in the Eternal Realm)
At the end of a Malignant Tunnel, you can invoke a growth of specific color (corresponds to a type of Malignant Heart).
You can break down Malignant Hearts to create Invokers, you can use these Invokers at a Malignant Tunnel. In Malignant Tunnels (Dungeons) you will find more Malignant Monsters.
Caged Hearts will have colors attached to them, for example, Brutal Hearts will have a blue color to them. They will only be socketable in infested sockets of the same color. There's 3 different types of color sockets, but 4 different types of Malignant Hearts. The final type of Malignant heart are very rare and will fit in any color socket.
Caged Hearts are an immensly powerful socketable item with Malignant Powers, there will be 32 different Malignent Powers in Season 1.
Any time you encounter an elite it has a chance to be malignant, it will drop a Malignant Heart. This heart draws in other malignant monsters. A more powerful version of that elite will turn into a boss which drops a caged heart, which can be socketed into items.
Season of the Malignant will take place after the events of the campaign of Diablo IV.
Season of the Malignant will start July 20th
Patch 1.0.4 will be released later today which adresses more feedback. Once the patch is live, Helltide Chests will have a chance to Unique items.

Season 1 of Diablo 4 is set to start somewhere mid to end July. The upcoming Diablo Developer Update Livestream on July 6 at 11 a.m. PDT, will announce the first Season of Diablo IV, along with incoming quality-of-life updates.
